The National Football League has issued a memo to its coaches warning them not to bully the replacement refs, according to NBC Sports, citing a report on Sunday from Jay Glazer of Fox Sports:
The league didn't like the reactions of some of the coaches to some of the officials. Jay Glazer of FOX Sports reports that NFL sent a memo this week warning the coaches against bullying the referees. One coach who prompted the memo was 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh.
Harbaugh was fined in the offseason by the league for his "headache" comments that were directed towards the replacement refs.
The league and its replacement refs also came under the microscope on Sunday after a ref was notified Sunday morning by the NFL that he would not proceed with officiating the New Orleans Saints game against the Carolina Panthers.
The league was made aware on Sunday morning that the official had Facebook pictures of him tailgating at a Saints game in August, with subsequent comments from Facebook users asking him to be "easy" on the Saints.
